Maranda Forney is a superwoman who truly has her plate full: singer, songwriter, producer, author, entrepreneur, mother, wife, radio personality and worshipper. She is a woman determined to make a difference in the world and impact lives for time and eternity.
Known for her powerful lyrics, angelic voice and passionate performances, this wife of 23 years and mother of 8 children will change your life one note at a time. Maranda was born in Camden, New Jersey (home of RCA Camden) where she often watched her father and uncles practice for their weekend gigs in Atlantic City. Several years later Maranda and her family relocated to Chicago, Illinois where she and 161 other award recipients were accepted into the Merit School of Music, a music conservatory. It was there, she expanded her vocal training and music theory knowledge. As a teenager she was a brief member of the Warner Bros. recording group "Teen Dream" groomed by Warner Bros. to be the next Supremes. The group went on to perform with Prince, Paula Abdul and other giants in the industry. Maranda met her husband Michael in 1990 and they were married in 1991 after they both received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. It was then Maranda began to write songs or praise, victory and triumph. In 2001 she released her first single, "In Your Presence" and her self-titled project, "Maranda" in 2005. On June 1st of 2014, Maranda released her newest single, "No Greater Love" and her new EP, "You Give Me Life" August 1st where she collaborated with Stellar Award winning “Producer of the Year” Derek “DOA” Allen. Maranda has a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from DeVry University and a Masters of Information Systems Management with Honors from Keller Graduate School of Management. She is a radio personality on WFBC Internet Radio where she is the host of “Mid-Mornings with Maranda” and a celebrity guest host on 2BAwards where winners are awarded anywhere from $1,000 to $10,00 per month. Maranda has shared the stage with many Gospel artists including, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, Juanita Bynum, Douglas Miller, Israel Houghton and Marvin Sapp. When asked what is her motivation and inspiration, she replied, “There is a force within me that grows stronger the more I am able to make a difference in the lives of others”.
